John 19:28 "It is finished."

     No, I'm not planning on going anywhere. This blog is still fairly young! But then, Jesus also meant something a bit different by that. I mean, 2,000 years later, and there hasn't been "A voice like as a trumpet." just yet. But to that point, it had been at least as long since the Fall in the Garden. He hasn't come back because some of us still on't get it. On the cross, sin and death were finished.  This was the blessing spelled out for Moses, just before the children of Israel entered the promised land. Right after this, God said he'd put His name on them, and bless them. Genisis 1:31 "God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good."

 A Hebew understanding of good is more than just correct, or appropriate. It means synchronized, like clockwork, with every little piece making every other piece work better. And if that's just good (Heb. tov) which is what He said about each part, how perfect His finished creation must be! And you're a part of that. Ecc. 7:28 "God has made man, but man looks for many devices."

 That could just as well say, "Man looks for anything better." But that's not possible. God is good, in every possible sense. He doesn't just do good things, God  is  goodness itself. That might be confusing, but every good thing comes from God, every good thing happens because of God.
