A Voice in the Wilderness

So, that's like, adoption. Which is a thing Christians talk about a lot. But I'm going to press into it here. I mean, just think. God-the same being, the same force, really, the Divine Person who not only made everything, but sustains everything; He makes your heart beat, makes the sun rise and set, just for starters, likes you well enough to say things like, "Keep it up, champ."   As part of the sermon on the mount, this was Jesus laying out the framework of the faith, for anyone who would listen. It's instructions for following Him well. And it still makes sense today. In a world of darkness and sin, the light of Christ cannot, must not, be hid. So, if you've received grace, if you've been saved, go tell people about it. And if you haven't yet, you can.   David knew that this was, and is, essential. I'd say, "Vital," but that just means life-giving. Anyway, my point is, so many of us, even those who've seen, get dismayed by the troubles of this world. And frankly, I'm no different. Which is why we gotta run back to the wellspring.  Before this, on the day of judgemet, the voice of God roars as a lion. And afterwards, the mountains drip sweet wine. But in the middle of it all, the Lord is a stronghold for His people. At times, His wonders and judgements are terrible to behold. Then again, He knows what we need, even when wedon't really want it. My God is so good, all of the time.   At first glance, this ould refer to our own faithfulness. And it does, and that's essential. But remember how God is always talking about covenants? More than contracts, those mean, give your all, and I'll give mine. Which means He's faithful. And while we mess up, God's perfect. Or, always faithful. He will never leave us, nor forsake us.  Allow me to do just that. In the begining, God made mankind perfect. But having free will, we messed things up. So later, to fix things, He sent his only begotten Son,ho showed us the way. Of course, messed up as we were, we killed Him. But God restored Him to life, and anyone who believes what Jesus taught will also live forever.  T o every one who has faith, to the Jew first and also to the Greek." Of course, the jews were first. They had the inside scoop, as it were, in a world of unbelief. But with cases like Jethro and Melchizedek, jews weren't the only ones who believed. Which I mention because, even now, salvation isn't only for the Greeks. In the same way that Paul took up this task, and yes, John the Baptist, I come to you now. Writing and fighting daily, to bring you the good news of the glories   and mercies of God through Christ.   And recieve...The Word...Which saves souls. But so often, we don't see filth. "It's just the way life is." Gets so often repeated, and after a while, it's just comforting. Or we think so, because it's all we know. But once a person finds righteousness, they can't enjoy anything less. Which is actually okay! And that's really the source of our joy, as Christians. As long as we make  sure to follow His simple instructions (Love God, and love your neighbor.) we can live in His love, enjoying all the goodness of God. Of course, we will mess up. But The Father is faithful and just to forgive. At which point, we can take up our crosses, count our blessings, and continue following Him.   That Jesus Christ is Lord." The text exlains, that includes on, above, and under the earth. While I'm not entirely sure what that means, It implies every soul, even those just beyond comprehending. Showing the absolute sovereignty of God. And that is both staggering, yet comforting, as He is faithul and just and good. To us, but beyond that, in ways we can barely understand.   It's easy to lose heart. To get discouraged, to think, "It's just no use." And the devil will try to use those very dry seasons to encourage that way of thinking. But in those times, try to recall your testimony. Those moments and events when you fell in love with Jesus. And then, remember this verse. Because after all, He's still the same merciful God.   Consider that for a second. I mean, you could think about it, but then, grace would still have a way of being "Far more." Now, many of us already hope for eternity with no sickness or pain. But here, we're promised all that, plus something even better! And it doesn't matter what you imagine, it's better than that. Glory be to God forever. Amen.   It's incredibly hard, but that's the deal! We have to stay righteous, every moment, of every day, in every way. Which is impossible. "But with God, all things are possible." So we can lean on the Spirit, our help in times of trouble. And as we do so, we'll grow closer. So every day, that burden is lesser. And I can do all things. through Christ who strengthens me.
